AR-2, AR-2S, AR-8RH, AR-8X, AR-16, ADC-4, ADC-16, STA-16 and PS-4 Test Programs using the Microsoft .NET Framework ____________________________________________________________ The "USB Com Driver" must be installed when connecting the above products to a USB port (in addition to the .Net Test software) if a USB com driver is not already on your system. Please note that it is not necessary to eject any of the above devices. The USB cable may be unplugged after the software interface is shut down. The "MS .Net App" should be installed for operating systems Windows XP (service pack 3) and later. This includes Windows Server 2008/Windows Server 2012, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 When you update this software, the previous version should be uninstalled first by going to Control Panel/Programs and Features and uninstalling the software. Double click on the setup.exe icon in the zip folder to begin installation (you do not need to extract). The "Universal App" must be installed for operating systems Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows ME. If your Windows computer does not have an Internet connection (and if the Microsoft .Net Framework has not been installed), you will need to install the Universal App. For computers that are not using the .NET Framework, please download the Universal Apps at: eeci.com/support2.htm When installing a Universal App to a computer with a 64 bit operating system, The product folder (located in the (x86) Program Files folder) must be copied to the Program Files folder after installation in order for the program to find it's .ini file and start. If your Windows computer does not have the Microsoft .Net Framework installed (or is missing components), the installation program will attempt to install the Microsoft .Net Framework or any missing components from the Windows Update web site. You should update your computer before installing the Microsoft .Net Framework by going to "All Programs" on your computer and clicking on Windows Update and the link "Check for updates". This only applies to the MS .Net Apps. Please note that most Windows 7 and later computers will have the .Net Framework installed by default. You must install the Help files to your computer in order for the Help feature in your App to work. The files will be copied to a folder on your C: drive named "eeci". Double click on Install_Help.bat (in the .zip folder) to copy files (this is a DOS batch file so you will see a command window open). Hit any key after the files are copied to close the command window. When the Test Program is started for the first time, you will be prompted to set the Com Port that is connected to your product. This Com Port setting is saved in a file that is created on your c: drive in a folder named c:\eeci\ file name product-set.ini You may edit this file using Notepad (line 1 is the com port). The Com Port may also be set with the program running by clicking on setup or double clicking on the com label. If you experience problems with the .ini file, delete the device folder (inside the C:\eeci folder) and restart the App. A new default .ini file will be created that you may set from within the App. The program should now start with the new Com Port setting and allow you to test your relays and/or inputs. If you are testing the AR-2S, you may also test the inputs by applying 12 volts to each input.
